About Me

Hello! I’m Jennifer, the founder of Full Petal Alchemy. I live in Austin, TX, with my husband and our two teens. I am biracial and deeply value diversity, which has influenced both my personal life and my approach to Full Petal Alchemy.

My passion for creating botanical perfume stems from my personal sensitivity to certain fragrances and a love for ingredients that nurture my mind, body, and soul while fulfilling my need for creative expression

During the last 7 years, what started as curiosity developed into a full-time passion. I sought out classes with natural perfumers such as the illustrious (and very kind) Mandy Aftel, and the very talented Charna Ethier, among others. I've spent time in creative groups and thousands of dollars developing fragrances that communicate my perspective.

As a former research nurse, I value safety and research; however, because of the strict IFRA restrictions surrounding botanical materials and quite a bit of research, I am not IFRA compliant. I believe it is important to preserve a living record of some of the most important botanical perfume materials of the 20th Century. The most common reason given for restrictions is the risk of skin sensitization in some individuals. To avoid risk, you may wear my fragrances on clothing (after testing on an inconspicuous spot), or on lava or wool balls. Only use on intact skin and discontinue immediately if a rash appears. I would also avoid using perfume on children under 12 years of age.

I appreciate the complicated interplay that occurs when blending botanical ingredients; there truly is an alchemy at play.

Ironically, I'm very sensitive to fragrance and experience sensory overload with very powerful aroma chemicals. I often wear my perfumes before bed, as a sensual or spiritual depending on my mood.

What started as a personal endeavor grew when friends experienced my creations and requested more, inspiring me to begin the long journey of launching Full Petal Alchemy. It has truly been a labor of love, blending my background as a former research nurse with my belief in both the functional and spiritual benefits of botanicals.

For millennia, humans have incorporated botanical materials not only for physical health and beauty but also to enhance mood, attract love, and connect with the divine. Whether it’s the narcotic allure of neroli, the timeless beauty of rose, or the uplifting power of citrus, rosemary, and frankincense, these ingredients tap into something ancient and profound.

My goal is to create fragrances that invite a connection to ancient rituals and vintage perfumery while incorporating a modern perspective. I design fragrances intended to make you feel and smell beautiful.
