House of Dana c. 1932
Javier Serra founded The House of Dana in Barcelona Spain, in 1932. The Greek goddess of Music and Poetry, Danaë, mother of Perseus by Zeus, inspired the naming of The House.

Javier Serra retained the legendary French perfumer Jean Carles (Jan 12, 1882—Jul 8, 1966) to compose many of the perfumes in the line: Tabu, Emir, and Canoe. In addition to being the perfumer behind such iconic fragrances, Jean Carles was also the nose behind Shocking de Schiaparelli and Ma Griffe and was the founder of the Roure Perfume School in 1946.
